Duncan Taylor
President and CEO
 
Duncan Taylor, as President of the company, ensures that our Mission Statement “Where Our Customer’s Success Is Our Primary Focus” is an integral part of the entire team’s work ethic and mindset. He also encourages each team member to live by Taylor Made’s Core Values: Honesty ˜Exceed Customer’s Expectations˜Goals Driven˜Teamwork. Duncan serves on the Breeder’s Cup Board of Trustees and Breeder’s Cup Board of Directors, Keeneland’s Board of Directors and the Keeneland Executive Board. Duncan and his wife of 25 years, Carol, have five children – Marshall, Morgan, Danny, Madeline and Caroline.
Ben Taylor
V.P. Taylor Made Stallions
 
Ben has been involved with Taylor Made since its inception and is the Vice President of Taylor Made Stallions, Inc., which currently stands ESKENDEREYA, FORESTRY, NORTHERN AFLEET, OLD FASHIONED, and UNBRIDLED'S SONG. Ben oversees Taylor Made's stallion division, controls the stallions' books and reviews all mares submitted to the TMSI stallions. Ben and TMSI work in conjunction with WinStar in the management of the stallions TIZNOW, and SPEIGHTSTOWN who stand at WinStar Farm and WILDCAT HEIR who stands at Journeyman Stud. Ben and his wife, Jan, have 3 children – Brooks, Courtney and Clay.
Frank Taylor
V.P. of Boarding Operations
 
A part of the Taylor Made team since its inception, Frank oversees the total operation of the farm including care of the horses, operation of the Boarding Department, and farm maintenance. He also assists clients on an individual basis advising them in matings and sales and generally providing a plan for improving their bloodstock. In addition he plays an integral part at the public auctions in which Taylor Made participates.
Mark Taylor
V.P. Sales
 
Mark is the youngest of the Taylor brothers. He graduated from Clemson University in 1992. After working for Hall of Fame trainer Ron McAnally in California as well as Satish Seemar in Dubai, Mark returned to Taylor Made full time in 1994. Mark became Vice President of Public Sales in 2000. Mark married his wife Julia in 1997 and they have been blessed with two boys, Christopher Walker (2000) and Joseph Lannon Taylor II (2003).
Pat Payne
V.P. Investments and Private Sales
 
Pat was born in Lexington and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Administration. He has over 30 years of experience in the Thoroughbred industry. In 1994, after 10 years as their Director of Sales, Pat resigned from Gainesway Farm to join Taylor Made as Vice President of Private Sales and Investments. A life-long friend of the Taylor family, Pat became a partner in 2008. He has been married to his wife Peggy for 27 years and they have 4 children.

Jeff Hayslett
Senior Account Manager
 
Jeff has been with the Taylor Made team since 1990. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky business school. As a Senior Account Manager, Jeff assists our clients with developing, managing, and profiting from their thoroughbred investments. He is actively involved in the evaluation of horses' conformation and offering advice on how to improve them. With this hands-on approach, he advises clients on how to mate and market their bloodstock.
Stuart Angus
Sales Account Manager
 
Stuart joined Taylor Made in November 2005. He has 30 years of horse experience, including 5 years of management with Due Process Stables in New Jersey; 9 years of management with Ben Walden's Vinery Farm and 5 years managing Payson Stud in Lexington. Stuart attended Sterling College in Vermont; the Kentucky school of horseshoeing in Shelbyville; Equine short course seminars at Colorado State and Cornell and a short course management seminar at Princeton. Stuart’s thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Thoroughbred industry, combined with his dedication to achieve customers' goals, makes him a great asset to the team. Stuart married his wife, Joni, in 1992. Their son, Andrew, was born in 1994.
Shannon Potter
Sales Account Manager
 
Shannon Potter is a native of Kentucky and joined the Taylor Made team in 2003 after quickly advancing through the Taylor Made Intern Program. Shannon’s experience in the Thoroughbred industry, outstanding client service, passion and integrity has made him an integral part of his clients’ equine investments. He has successfully guided his clients through all facets of their bloodstock needs, including purchases, training, breeding and sales. Shannon lives in the Lexington area with his wife, Jessica, and their son, Graham.
Wally Burleson
Sales Account Manager
 
Wally joined the Taylor Made team in October of 1995. He is a third generation horseman and a native Texan. He grew up ranching and raising Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred bloodstock and studied Equine Science at Tarelton State University. He is married to Barb, and has two sons named Mason and Ryan.
Leif Aaron
Stakes Filly Recruiter
 
Leif rejoined Taylor Made in September of 2009 to lead our Stakes Filly Recruiting Program. His primary role is to track and recruit stakes-caliber racing/broodmare prospects for Taylor Made to sell either privately or at public auction. Leif is a recent graduate of the prestigious Darley Flying Start Program. He is a central Kentucky native who started his career in the Thoroughbred business with Juddmonte Farms and then as the Pedigree Research Director at Taylor Made where he worked for two years. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Agricultural Economics.

Jerry Felix
VP of Administration and Chief Financial Officer
 
Jerry joined the Taylor Made team in April 2010. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 28 years of financial experience in multiple industries. Jerry has spent the last 15 years in executive level management, most recently serving as the CFO and Chief Operating Officer of SportsMyx Holdings, LLC, a Sports Marketing and Media company. Prior to his tenure at SportsMyx, Jerry served as Chief Financial Officer for Host Communications, Inc., a Lexington KY based company and one of the nation’s leading organizations in providing affinity, multimedia, promotional and event management services to universities, athletic conferences, associations and corporations. A native of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Jerry holds a BS in Accounting from West Virginia University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Chapter of the CPA’s, the Financial Executives Institute and the Institute of Management Accountants. Prior to joining Taylor Made, Jerry along with his wife Traci and their two children, Justin and Jacob lived in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Anne Carmichael
Executive Assistant to the President
 
Anne joined Taylor Made in February 2006 as the Executive Assistant to the President. She has an Associate’s Degree from the University of KY, as well as certification in Business Management from Fugazzi Business College. Anne is a member of K.E.E.P. (Kentucky Equine Education Project) and Business and Professional Women of Kentucky.
Cathy Welch
Human Resources Director
 
Cathy joined the Taylor Made team in 2005 as the Human Resources Director. She is responsible for recruiting and selection, reviewing compensation plans, performance appraisals, training, legal compliance, employee relations and various other Human Resources functions. Cathy's background includes 13 years combined experience in Human Resources working in automotive manufacturing and professional recruiting. She holds a bachelors degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Cathy lives in Nicholasville with husband Bobby and two children Braydin and Bragdon.
Martin Pierce
Budgeting/Purchasing Director
 
A Team Member since 1985, Martin is responsible for planning and administering Taylor Made's budgets, purchasing, and accounts payable, as well as overseeing four additional Taylor Made departments. He serves on the Financial Committee and the Three-Year Strategic Planning Committee.
Mark Brooking
Director of Research
 
A 29-year Thoroughbred industry veteran, Mark oversees Research for all of Taylor Made's divisions and marketing for Taylor Made Stallions. Research Director for Taylor Made in the early 1990s, Mark has worked with some of the most respected breeding operations in the world. He is the former Director of Research for The Thoroughbred Times and worked for the Daily Racing Form. Prior to rejoining Taylor Made in 2004, Mark owned his own company specializing in catalog and sales research. As a consultant, he has advised on the purchase of or matings for the dams of Breeders' Cup winners Shared Account and Desert Stormer, million dollar earner Morluc, Champion Plenty of Sugar and GSWs Liaison, Golden Itiz, Guided Tour, Sapphire 'n Silk, Abby Girl, Saintly Look, Dontellthekids and Screen Your Friend.
Hunter Houlihan
Senior Research Specialist
 
Hunter attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington while pursuing a degree in Spanish. He worked five years with Bloodstock Research Information Services in Lexington and worked with trainers at Keeneland and for private breeding farms while going to college. Hunter works closely with Mark Brooking in providing research information for all the divisions. He and his wife, Meredith, live in Lexington and are the proud parents of a daughter, named Kate.
Ryan Mork
Director of Information Technology
 
Ryan joined the Taylor Made team in 2007. He is a graduate of WGU with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Network Design and Management, he has received many computer industry certifications. Ryan has spent most his life working with computers, providing technical support, and training. Prior to joining Taylor Made, Ryan spent time working as a computer/network specialist for a local school district and as a graphic designer for an ad agency.
Jimmy Elliott
Facilities Coordinator
 
Jimmy started working on the farm as a teenager and went to work with thoroughbreds in 1981 for Thomas Collins' On the Rocks Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. During his tenure at On the Rocks Jimmy worked various jobs graduating to the position of Assistant Farm Manager. A Taylor Made employee since 1991, Jimmy is an integral part of the sales team setting up and organizing the equipment and supplies needed to run our teams at the sales. During the breeding season Jimmy works with Barrett Midkiff transporting horses to and from the breeding sheds.
Marsha Miller
Receptionist
 
Marsha came to Taylor Made in April 2009. She brings with her 30 years of communications experience. She says she wants the first impression of Taylor Made to be a very positive one when she greets guests and visitors or answers the switchboard.
Emily Worten
Office Runner
 
Emily started at Taylor Made in July of 2007 and is primarily responsible for making daily runs to the various vendors and sales companies Taylor Made works with on a regular basis. A graduate of Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, Kentucky, Emily attended Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Agricultural Management before switching her major to Photography.

Mark Taylor
V.P. of Sales and Marketing

Patrick Mahan
Director of Marketing
 
Joined Taylor Made in April 2006 bringing to the horse industry a diverse background in sales, marketing and communications. Played baseball on scholarship for the University of Kentucky and spent the summer of 1999 playing baseball in China. Spent 5 years in radio and television as a play-by-play announcer, talk show host and producer. He has a lifetime of experience in Sales and Marketing, including work for the NCAA, NFL (National Football League), Minor League Baseball and the Tennis Masters Cup.
Connie Bowen
Executive Assistant to the V.P. of Sales and Marketing
 
Connie has been a team member since 1987. She is the administrative assistant for Mark Taylor. At the sales grounds, Connie places reserves and assists clients in communicating with the Taylor Made Team to make sure their sales experience is the best it can be.
Susan Ballard
Public Sales Manager
 
Susan is Public Sales Manager and has been a team member for over twenty years. She works closely with Mark Taylor and other members of the Public Sales Team to make sure the total sales process goes smoothly.
Darlene Phillips
Accounting Proceeds
 
Darlene joined the Taylor Made team in 1990. She is responsible for sales proceeds and works closely with the sales companies throughout the year. Darlene works diligently to ensure that your sales proceeds are accurate and mailed to you as quickly as possible.
Karen Hammonds
Collections
 
Karen has been a Taylor Made team member since 2001. Along with her duties at Taylor Made, Karen operates a successful, home-based business in Versailles.
Terri Feldman
Public Sales Coordinator
 
Terri has been a Taylor Made team member since 1994. She is Public Sales Coordinator and responsible for entering horses in various sales, collecting paperwork, and making sure all necessary components are in place for Taylor Made to sell your horse.
Annie Padron
Public Sales Assistant
 
Annie has been employed by Taylor Made since 2004 working on the farm in numerous capacities. As a Public Sales Assistant Annie reports to the Public Sales Manager and assists in all aspects of that division from helping entering horses to finalizing details on paperwork and logistics of the sales staff. Annie is married to Luis and devotes all her time out of work to her daughter Katherine and son Mathew.
Sheri Pitzer
Boarding Executive Assistant
 
Sheri joined the Taylor Made Team in 2002 as the Farm and Sales Photographer. Sheri oversees the taking of monthly pictures of the horses at the farm to keep owners apprised of their horses' development. She is also responsible for photographing the horses at the sales for both sellers and buyers.
Cara Caldwell
Marketing Assistant
 
Cara joined the Taylor Made team in June of 2008 after earning an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design from Spencerian College. Cara's talents in graphic design and video production are invaluable for both Taylor Made and our clients. Upon request, Cara shoots video footage of horses boarded on the farm which is sent to owners so they can see the progress of their horses. Cara also contributes to the design and production of various marketing materials including print, Internet and other promotional items.

BOARDING

Frank Taylor

Sue Egan
Boarding Assistant
 
A team member since 1992, Sue primarily oversees with the administration of veterinary services done on the farm, including billing and supplies. She schedules the vaccination/deworming program with the farm managers and also communicates to them arriving and departing horse information. During the breeding season she books the mares boarded at Taylor Made Sales, and at the sales she handles the repository.
Katie Taylor-Marshall
Boarding Assistant
 
Katie assists the boarding department in billing and maintaining horse records on a daily basis. During the sales, she assists in much of the veterinary and repository work conducted at the sales.
John Hall
Yearling Manager
 
John has been with the Taylor Made team since 1996. He is a second generation horseman who brings over 40 years of hands on practical experience to the organization. He has been involved with all aspects of the business from farm ownership, breaking and training, to mare management. His family is active in the thoroughbred business as well. Key responsibilities include over seeing the yearling crop, sales preparation, and personal communication with the clients whose horses are under his care.
Tom Hamm
General Farm Manager
 
Tom joined Taylor Made in August of 2006. He is a second generation horseman and has over 25 years of experience working with horses. Tom was an Assistant Trainer from 1995-2006. He has extensive experience with breaking and conditioning young horses. Tom's primary duties include managing Taylor Made's consignment and sales force at public auctions. His responsibilities at Taylor Made Farm include managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm. Tom is a 1991 graduate of the Western Reserve Institute Police Academy in Northeast Ohio and a former Police Officer. Tom has been married to his wife Amy for 19 years and they have three children: Alyssa, Haylee, and Olivia.
Steve Avery
Broodmare Manager
 
Steve was born and raised in Antigo, Wisconsin. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater. Before joining the Taylor Made team in 2001, he worked as a golf course construction supervisor in Venezuela. Steve also has a long history of experience working with Thoroughbreds. He began prepping yearlings at Crestwood Farm in 1983 for Pope McClean. He also worked at Gainesway Farm for twelve years with broodmares, breaking and training horses as a Foreman and then Broodmare Manager. At Taylor Made, his focus is on breeding mares, raising foals, and preparing them for the sales. His goal is always to raise the best horses possible.
Bob White
Sectional Manager-Bona Terra A, B and C
 
Bob started at Taylor Made in December 2006 and brings with him an extensive background that has ranged from broodmare and farm management in Florida and Western Kentucky to a Racing Official at Oaklawn Park, Hialeah Park and Louisiana Downs. A graduate of the University of Arizona Racetrack Management program, Bob is responsible for the overall operation of his division which includes mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings. Bob and his wife Mary have three children: Preston, Alexander and Aubrey
Cesar Terrazas
Division Manager-Eagle Creek and Yearling Complex C
 
Cesar has been a Taylor Made team member since 1999. Cesar has over 10 years combined experience in working with broodmares, yearlings and stallions. Cesar was promoted to Eagle Creek (Yearling) Division Manager in 2007.
Barrett Midkiff
Van Driver
 
Barrett has been a Taylor Made team member since 1991. He brought with him many years of experience working with thoroughbred horses. At Calumet Farm, he worked with mares, foals, and yearlings. At Mereworth Farm, he focused on mares. At Crestview and Nursery Place, he did nightwatch and was in charge of foaling mares. Here at Taylor Made, Barrett transports horses to and from breeding appointments and to and from the sales. He is also known for being willing to pitch in and do anything possible to help the team run smoothly.
Dan Kingsland
Nightwatch Manager
 
Dan has been working for Taylor Made since February 2005 in the Nightwatch Division. Dan brings to the Nightwatch Manager position over 15 years of farm management, night security and sales experience.

Laura Donnell
Photographer
 
Laura joined the Taylor Made team in 2011 after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Electronic Media. Laura’s primary duties are taking monthly photos of all horses boarded at Taylor Made for owners. She also takes photos of all the horses at the sales for both sellers and buyers. This ensures that owners are always aware of their horse’s development while at Taylor Made. Laura’s photos are also used for varies publications and promotions for Taylor Made and our clients.
Jacob Dunlap
Maintenance Manager
 
Jacob started at Taylor Made in January 2011. Before coming to Taylor Made he worked for a construction company that specialized in farm related construction and maintenance. Jacob oversees all the maintenance issues around the farm as well as pasture management. He is married to Jennifer and they have a daughter, Annabelle.

Tina Miller
Executive Assistant to the V.P. Taylor Made Stallions
 
A Team Member since 1984, Tina supervises the Stallion Department which includes the issuance of Service Contracts and Service Certificates for the stallions standing at Taylor Made and the booking of mares that are visiting the stallions standing here. She tracks the mares that have been bred and is responsible for billing and the collection of stud fees. Tina assists clients in the submission of mares for possible breedings and the scheduling of stallion shows.
Gilberto Terrazas
Stallion Division Manager
 
Gilberto joined the Taylor Made Stallion Division in 2007 as the Stallion Manager following six years as the Division Manager for Taylor Made's Yearling Complex. Gilberto supervises our stallion division, which includes the stallions: ESKENDEREYA, FORESTRY, NORTHERN AFLEET, OLD FASHIONED, and UNBRIDLED'S SONG. He supervises all breedings and the general care of the stallions. Gilberto works closely with Tina Miller and Wendy Upton on the booking of mares, corresponding with owners and the scheduling of stallion shows. Gilberto's previous experience included four years of experience at Overbrook Farm with mares and stallions. He also worked for 505 Farms where he prepped for the two-year-old in training sales.
Wendy Upton
Stallion Administrative Assistant
 
Wendy has an extensive background in the thoroughbred industry at all levels and got her start on the East Coast as an owner/operator of a small hunter boarding, breeding and training stable. She had experience in foaling and lay-ups in Virginia and worked in stallion administration in New York. Prior to coming to Taylor Made she worked for Bloodstock Research in Lexington, Kentucky. Wendy owns a small broodmare band and enjoys breeding thoroughbreds as well as paint showhorses.
Travis White
Stallion Nominations Manager
 
Travis joined Taylor Made in November of 2007 as the Stallion Nominations Manager. Travis has 10 years combined experience in sales and management, four years of which have been focused in the thoroughbred horse industry as a Director of Seasons and Shares. Travis also holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Kentucky.

Pat Payne

Pat was born in Lexington and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Administration. He has over 30 years of experience in the Thoroughbred industry. In 1994, after 10 years as their Director of Sales, Pat resigned from Gainesway Farm to join Taylor Made as Vice President of Private Sales and Investments. A life-long friend of the Taylor family, Pat became a partner in 2008. He has been married to his wife Peggy for 27 years and they have 4 children.
Pat Bellairs
Administrative Assistant to the VP of Private Sales
 
Pat worked for Taylor Made in the early 90’s and then headed to Dubai where she helped set up and manage the Dubai Equine Hospital for 5 years. While in Dubai she also developed and managed a therapeutic riding program for children. Back in Lexington after 13 years, Pat returned to Taylor Made Sales Agency where she provides support and administrative assistance to the Private Sales department. Pat has over 20 years of combined administrative, office and management experience in the equine industry.
Des Forqueran
Private Sales Accounting
 
Des is responsible for contracts and documentation in regards to the sale of outside seasons and shares and the private sale of horses. She bills out and disburses money derived from seasons, shares and horses sold privately. She also handles the tracking, billing and disbursements of Taylor Made's partnership investments.

Accounting

Dan Collier
Controller
 
Dan was born in Ashland, Ky and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Sullivan University. Before joining the Taylor Made team in September 2010, Dan had extensive experience in accounting and operating systems at Elan, Inc. as the Assistant Controller. Dan lives in Nicholasville with his wife Sarah and three sons, Noah, Elijah and Isaiah.
Kelly Long
Payroll / Accounting
 
Kelly joined the Taylor Made team in January of 1999. She is a graduate of Sullivan College with a degree in accounting and business management. Kelly works in the accounting department and does the payroll, accounts payable and assists in all other accounting areas.
